Next week (November 12-16) is Minnesota College Application Week. The week is a collaborative event between high schools and post-secondary institutions meant to increase the number of all students completing a college application, with special focus on first-generation college students.
In honor of the week, some post-secondary institutions will be waiving the application fee for qualifying students. Students are encouraged to verify with a college if they are participating in a fee waiver for this special event. Many colleges have a fee waiver policy in place year-round for low-income students.
Resources and downloadable implementation tools for sites participating in this event have been made available by the Minnesota College Access Network. Students, parents and educators will also want to bookmark the new Minnesota Department of Education website readysetgomn.com for information on college and career readiness and accelerated course options in Minnesota.
